                       Swindon & Cricklade

                       Railway Society

In many parts of the country, successful schemes have been launched by
railway enthusiasts to save or restore branch railway lines, which have proved
viable and also assets to the area.
It has always seemed a pity to many of us in the Swindon area that there
is no preservation scheme in the vicinity of the town, despite its long assoc-
iations with railways. So this Society has been formed to restore the old rail-
way line from Moredon to Cricklade, about a 5 mile stretch.
When the track has been restored, it is hoped that steam hauled passenger
trains will operate in North Wiltshire once again. Much needs to be done, but w
we hope that voluntary labour and the necessary financial support will be
                               T
forthcoming. I!+U" IATELY we need more members, so why not get involved? We need
and welcome people from all, walks of life and of all ages. JOIN TODAY.
