THE BETTING SHOP Ten residents, including T.R.O. representatives,
the Church and the Good Companions Group attended W ootten-Bassett
Magistrates Court on Tuesday 22nd April to oppose the application
for a Betting License for a shop in the village centre. As a
result of the evidence given by those present and the presentation
of a petition of 605 signatures, the magistrates refused the
license application. Thamesdown BC will now have to find an
alternative use for the shop which we hope will be more use to
residents. Our grateful thanks to all those who gave us their
support.
LONGTHORPE CLOSE Residents who wish to use their back gardens for
7 should contact TBC Housing Department direct.
PARKING While on the subject of parking, many council tenants have discovered that they
are being charged for parking spaces. Please contact your street representative with
details of the amount charged and your objections (if any).
NO DOGS The signs prohibiting dogs from Toothill School grounds have been erected now.
TEENAGERS have been using Toothill School roof as a 'ski slope'. Not only is this
damaging the roof, it can be pretty damaging to the teenagers. If you have some con-
structive ideas on the provision of recreation facilities in Toothill, write to the
Link and/or T.R.O.
