The team at a luxury Wiltshire hotel are celebrating after being awarded Gold at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2024.
The venue has been recognised for offering a memorable and immersive guest experience.
Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort, which sits at the heart of the 2,000-acre Bowood Estate, won Gold in the ‘Spa and Wellbeing Experience of the Year’ category at the finals’ ceremony in the Great Hall of Exeter University.
Jeff Condliffe, General Manager at Bowood Hotel, said “We're thrilled to claim the Gold spot in the region for our spa. This is a great achievement for the spa team, who have had a particularly strong past year, introducing the new twilight spa package, as well as receiving recognition from several prestigious trade associations.

The awards welcomed entries from spas, yoga breaks and health retreats, with Bowood coming out on top in the region, and facing Your Best You at Aztec Hotel & Spa in Bristol, in the finals.
As well as the presentation of awards, the event also saw a prize draw fundraiser in support of Hospitality Action, which supports those in the industry who are facing hard times.
The Spa at Bowood boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a 15-metre indoor infinity pool, a Jacuzzi, crystal steam room, rock sauna, and aromatherapy showers. At the end of last year, The Spa joined the exclusive ranks of being only one of two AA Recommended Spas in Wiltshire, as well as achieving ‘5 bubble spa’ status from the Good Spa Guide.
The South West Tourism Awards are recognised for rigour, with independent judges spending months looking into entry submissions, websites, social media and review sites, as well as carrying out business visits. Reports and recommendations were then submitted to an independent panel who made the final decisions.
Alongside its outstanding spa offering, Bowood’s amenities include its two AA Rosette Shelburne Restaurant, the official PGA Golf Course for the South West and its principal hotel accommodation.
