North Wiltshire Crematorium & Memorial Gardens is to become a funeral ‘SuperVenue' and enable bereaved families to experience sensitive personalisation to their loved one’s services.
The chapel is soon to be renovated and fitted with state-of-the-art technology which, the team says, will enable funerals to be more uniquely personal than ever before.
The chapel at the crematorium, which is near Royal Wootton Bassett, will temporarily close from Saturday 22 August for the transformation to take place, and services will resume from Tuesday 8 September with the SuperVenue options available.
North Wiltshire Crematorium & Memorial Gardens Manager Loraine Beckinsale said: “We are proud to be introducing the opportunity to personalise funerals to unprecedented levels to our bereaved communities.
“The feedback received from our SuperVenues already operating in other parts of the country has been extremely positive, and I look forward to supporting the bereaved near and further afield to have the chance to create the most memorable tributes to their loved ones, here at North Wiltshire.
“Whether it’s a landscape theme, a seasonal background, or even a football stadium, there is a wide range of themes and choices available, with many options to tailor the displays to be specifically relevant to the person being honoured.”
Throughout the period of chapel closure, the memorial grounds and the office will remain open as usual.
North Wiltshire Crematorium & Memorial Gardens is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 sites in England, Scotland and Wales.
All Westerleigh's locations are set within landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefitting from exceptional care and support from its teams.
North Wiltshire is one of a growing number of Westerleigh crematoria to become a SuperVenue.
Post-renovation, mourners can be greeted by their loved one’s name and a cherished photo displayed on an external welcome screen, setting the tone for the service.
Inside the chapel, a curated theme will be projected onto the entire front wall - canvas - accompanied by harmoniously coordinated soundscapes and lighting.
There will be a range of canvas themes for bereaved families to choose from to reflect the life of the person being remembered.
