Nine charities registered in Wiltshire over the past year were established to focus on poverty prevention and relief plus economic, community and employment development.
The data has come from new analysis of Charity Commission data by specialist insurer Ansvar Insurance.
The nine organisations represent 18% of the 51 charities registered in Wiltshire during the past 12 months, above the national average of 16%.
In total, Wiltshire is home to 548 registered charities supporting people through poverty, economic and community challenges.
Adam Tier, Head of Underwriting at Ansvar, said: “The fact that nine new charities have been established to tackle poverty and create opportunities demonstrates the commitment of local people to supporting those facing challenges.
“Charities are often founded because individuals recognise there is a gap in support and want to make a positive difference.
"Whether through employment support, skills development, community initiatives or direct assistance for those experiencing financial hardship, these organisations help people build better futures.”
