UK Shared Business Services (UKSBS) has been shortlisted in five categories at the 2026 Operational Excellence Awards UK.

The shortlisting recognises the organisation's commitment to driving performance, efficiency and excellence across the public sector.
UKSBS is a public sector shared services provider, delivering HR and Payroll, Finance, Procurement, and IT services to its partner organisations.
Chief Operating Officer Tim Knight said: “This is a fantastic reflection of the talent and dedication across UKSBS.
"I’m proud of the way our teams have embraced continuous improvement, and I’m delighted that the benefits they deliver for our clients have been recognised through these awards.”
The organisation's Operations Team has been nominated for Operations Team of the Year, in recognition of a team that has consistently gone beyond its job description.
Throughout organisational change and challenge, the team has taken ownership of complex, cross-cutting initiatives, invested in professional development, and built the foundations of a continuous improvement culture that will benefit UKSBS for years to come.
The organisation's Green Belt Lean Six Sigma training programme has been nominated for Training Programme of the Year.
Over the past 12 months, three full cohorts of UKSBS employees have completed the training.
Green Belt accreditation is not awarded for completing the training alone but is earned through the successful delivery of a continuous improvement project with measurable impact.
Two UKSBS colleagues based in Newport have also been individually shortlisted this year: Julie Lammond-Ross for Women in Operations, and Daniel Stevens for Rising Star in Operations.
The Operational Excellence Awards UK celebrate organisations and individuals setting new standards for operational excellence, providing a platform to showcase achievement and inspire others across the sector to unlock efficiencies, reduce costs and improve performance through data-driven strategies.
Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 24 September at the Park Plaza London Riverbank.
