Swindon charities to be £180,000 better off thanks to Zurich Community Trust

Zurich Community Trust is partnering with three Swindon charities in a three-year initiative worth £20,000 a year to each charity.

The funding will support health and wellbeing projects that make a lasting impact in the local community, selected by Zurich UK employees.

These local partnerships form part of a wider commitment, with Zurich Community Trust investing £1,677,000 to support 31 charities across the UK, equivalent to £559,000 each year.
The £180,000 pledge will support two existing Swindom partners - The Recovery Tree and Big Breakfast Plus - and welcome a new partner, Headway Swindon.
Samantha Owen, Interim Head of Zurich Community Trust said: “We’re delighted to continue supporting two of our existing charity partners in Swindon and to welcome a new one into this initiative. Health and wellbeing are vital to thriving communities, and the funding reflects our commitment to making a difference.
“This pledge is about more than funding though - it’s about partnership. Zurich UK employees voted for these charities and will actively support them through volunteering. 
"Together, we aim to create meaningful change in the communities where we live and work.”
The Recovery Tree will use the funding to develop therapeutic garden-based projects that improve mental wellbeing and strengthen its fundraising strategy.
Big Breakfast Plus will maintain core services while expanding its vision to integrate health and support services within its breakfast café.
Headway Swindon, as a new partner, will launch an annual Integrated Health Promotion Programme for adults with acquired and traumatic brain injuries, delivering evidence-based interventions to improve physical activity, mental wellbeing, social engagement, and self-management of long-term conditions.
