This June, Helen Browning’s Organic will be launching their very first organic gin, handcrafted in small batches with sweet pear and bittersweet sea buckthorn.

This authentic, organic London Dry gin is said to have been inspired by Helen’s agroforestry project, with some of the botanicals grown on the farm.

Agroforestry is a farming method that uses pioneering agriculture to combine planting trees, plants and crops together in order to build soil health and organic matter.

A spokesperson for HBO said: "The distinct flavour profile of sea buckthorn, an emerging superfood, is mellowed out by the pear, fresh honey and herbal notes.

"Always with sustainability in mind, the bottle itself is made from recycled glass with a recyclable mineral paper label and seal finished with soft wooden cork. Refillable pouches are then available to refill the bottle. When finished, customers can post the refill pouches back to Helen Browning’s Organic who will then recycle them."

Helen Browning’s family has farmed at Eastbrook Farm for 67 years and takes pride in forward-thinking farming methods, seeking out ways to farm that are as good as they possibly can be for people, farm animals and nature.

The farm, is an oasis of wild birds, deer and a vibrant insect population alongside free-range livestock that all thrive among the pollen and flowers of sea buckthorn, dog rose, wild crab apple and pear trees in the 50 miles of hedgerows.

CEO of the Soil Association, Helen Browning said: “Our farm is at the heart of everything we do. Our agroforestry project is already making a positive impact on the soil on which we depend and the wildlife that live on the land. Now, excitingly, we can capture Eastbrook Farm in a bottle - and it’s delicious!”

The gin, certified by the Soil Association, will be available to purchase online at Helen Browning’s Organic shop here and served at Helen Browning’s Royal Oak, a pub with 12 luxurious rooms in the Wiltshire countryside that brings the meaning of ‘Farm to Table’ to life. Wholesale trade is also available with some exciting stockists coming soon.

The full range of Helen Browning’s Organic products, including the new gin, can be purchased at www.helenbrowningsorganic.co.uk/shop/ .
