All are invited to celebrate the Town Gardens Bowl’s 90th anniversary with an hour of music, movement and swing-inspired fun.
There will be a chance for people to dance their way back to the 1930s as the Town Gardens Bowl hosts Step Back in Time, a fun and welcoming Lindy Hop-themed dance workshop for adults.
Taking place at the Town Gardens Bowl on Sunday 16 August, the workshop will be led by Swindon Dance’s Zoe Humphries and promises an uplifting hour of music, movement and swing-era spirit.
Inspired by the joyful energy of Lindy Hop, the iconic swing dance that emerged in the 1930s, the session is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Whether a seasoned dancer or somebody who has never danced before, each participant will learn easy-to-follow movements while enjoying the infectious music and atmosphere of the swing era.
There’s no need to bring a partner as the workshop is all about getting involved, having fun and enjoying the experience together.
Cllr John Firmin, Chair of South Swindon Parish Council’s Events Working Party, said: “The Town Gardens Bowl has been bringing people together through music, entertainment and shared experiences for 90 years, so it’s wonderful to mark the anniversary with an activity that gets people up and moving.
"Step Back in Time is a great opportunity to try something completely different, learn some Lindy Hop-inspired moves and have fun in this special setting.”
Tickets are £3 per person, making the workshop an affordable way to be part of the Town Gardens Bowl’s 90th anniversary celebrations.
