Spring sees Lydiard Park lay on a series of events with something for everyone to enjoy.

On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April, people will have the chance to get up close with incredible creatures as the park hosts Mad4Animals.
Participants will have the chance to meet animals from all over the world such as snakes and spiders, and learn some funny and fantastic facts about them in this unique animal show.
After the show there will be time to handle some of the animals and even have pictures with the giant snakes.
Each session lasts around 90 minutes. Ticket numbers are limited and booking is recommended.
On 2 May, Lydiard Park hosts the Race for Life 5K, whose participants can walk, jog or run at their own pace while supporting life-saving cancer research.
The 5k is described as an achievable distance and a good first challenge for most people. At just over three miles it can take about an hour to walk on average, but there is no pressure to finish in a certain time.
The race begins on grass, in line with the children’s play area outside Jungle Parc and Forest Cafe.
The course is on a mixture of tarmac paths and  woodland trails. Due to the nature of the venue, the route does involve some hills, uneven ground, twists and turns and all adds to the challenge and fun.
Participants can join forces or go solo, taking part in any Race for Life event as an individual or a group to raise money for life-saving research.
Other Race for Life events include a 3K race ideal for families, a more challenging 10K race, a Pretty Muddy race for children and one for adults.
On 9 and 10 May, The Big Bark brings a weekend dedicated to dogs and their humans, with live demonstrations, have-a-go activities, a shopping village and even a doggy café.
Swindon’s ultimate dog-lover’s festival will run from 10am to 4pm on each of the two days.
It will also feature an expert Advice Zone at which dog lovers will be able to chat to trainers, nutritionists and wellbeing specialists, and the event will support local charities.
