Man dies in collision on A419

A man has died following a collision on the A419 between Swindon and Cricklade this morning - 31 July.

At around 7.30am, the police received a report that a grey Tesla Model Y travelling northbound on the A419 had collided with the back of a Scania lorry parked in a layby.
The driver of the Tesla, a man in his 40s, was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. There were no other reported injuries.
The A419 northbound from the Turnpike junction was closed for an investigation to be carried out.
Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 61 for 31 July.
