The Wiltshire Police Netball Team has been named the first-ever recipient of the Sports Team of the Year Award at the inaugural Wiltshire Police Sports Club Awards.
The awards were introduced to recognise and celebrate the individuals and teams who make the Sports Club such a positive, supportive and successful community.
The Sports Team of the Year Award recognises a team that has demonstrated outstanding commitment, inclusivity, sportsmanship and pride in representing Wiltshire Police.
Since relaunching four years ago, the Wiltshire Police Netball Team has gone from strength to strength, developing into a vibrant and inclusive group.
Bringing together both experienced and new players, the team has created an environment where everyone is encouraged to take part, improve their skills and enjoy the sport, regardless of ability.
Team member Hayley Hardie said: "We've got a great team and the opportunity to play with people we wouldn't ordinarily meet through our roles.
"I feel honoured to represent the force at the PSUK tournaments."
The team has proudly represented Wiltshire Police at the annual Police Sport UK (PSUK) Netball Tournament, travelling across the country to compete while demonstrating teamwork, camaraderie and professionalism.
Their commitment to fair play was recognised at their first PSUK tournament, where they won the Fair Play Award.
In September, the team will travel to Newcastle to compete in their fourth PSUK tournament together.
The team's distinctive netball dresses, featuring handcuff-inspired designs, have also become a well-known talking point among forces across the country.
Away from competition, members take part in regular training sessions, friendly fixtures and social events, helping to strengthen team bonds and support the wellbeing of officers and staff.
The team has played matches against the Prison Service, the Army and local clubs, and has organised two successful charity tournaments, raising money for Wiltshire Search and Rescue.
The award recognises not only the team's success on court but also the supportive culture they have built, where members are encouraged to challenge themselves, support one another and enjoy being part of a team.
A force spokesperson said: "As the inaugural winners of the Sports Team of the Year Award, the Wiltshire Police Netball Team has set a high standard for future recipients.
"Their dedication, sportsmanship and commitment to creating a positive environment make them worthy winners.
