The Anytime Fitness gym in Swindon has reopened after undergoing significant refurbishment.
The work followed a fire which forced its closure in the summer of 2024, and the Old Town gym is now operational again and signing up new members.
Spread across two floors, the gym is equipped with a variety of high-quality exercise equipment and modern changing facilities. Its standout feature is its 24-hour access policy, allowing members to work out at their convenience.
January is a crucial period for the fitness industry, with many people using the start of the year to focus on health and fitness goals. Industry reports show that nearly 20 percent of UK adults join a gym in January. The timing of the reopening aligns with this seasonal surge in interest, offering local residents a chance to begin their fitness journeys.
Manager Lyndsey Plant said: “Reopening Anytime Fitness for January has been driven by our local community.
“We’re excited about welcoming our old members back again and finding new ones ready to try the gym out. With our 24-hour access, high-quality equipment, and central Old Town location, we’re here to make regular exercise a part of everyday life for Swindon residents.”
The reopening comes at a time when health challenges in Swindon highlight the need for accessible fitness facilities.
Regular exercise is recognised as an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, helping to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. It also provides significant mental health benefits, including stress relief.
Gyms are also often seen as important community spaces, offering a local venue for individuals to improve their physical fitness and connect with others who share similar goals.
The gym is currently offering special membership deals with signup at £1 to celebrate its reopening, and encourages anyone interested to visit or find out more at https://myanytimefitness.co.uk/swindon
