The pub has a brand-new look, with the interior updated to be what the team describe as bright and bold.

Customers are promised eye-catching artworks, striking patterns and an alternative design.

A spokesperson for owners Stonegate Group said: "The revamp has boosted the beer garden so that its reign as the best place locally to enjoy a pint and see the sport alfresco-style continues.

"As the lighter nights and warmer weather continues, there is no doubt this will become the hub for socially distanced catchups for all.

"Locals that visit the Cross Keys, widely known for an atmospheric night out, will not be disappointed as regular quizzes and party events promise entertaining evenings for all, as fortnightly live music performances and monthly karaoke nights will see in the early hours.

"The refresh will also bolster the pub’s daytime offer, providing a relaxed and laid-back setting for mid-morning coffees, leisurely lunches, or meals with loved ones. Remote workers will also be able to take advantage of bottomless hot and soft drinks, as the pub helps to fuel the workday of those looking to escape their own four walls.

"For those fed up with constantly cooking, the venue’s extensive food menu is back with a bang! Customers can look forward to choosing new toppings for their pizza cones, with chicken shawarma, pulled duck and grilled halloumi just some of the options that can be added to the chip-filled roll.

"Alternatively, the new Chick Flick and Nice N’ Spice pizzas will excite every tastebud. Those wanting to steer away from sourdough will be able to choose from burgers, sarnies, mains and more, with a massive selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options added."

The spokesperson added: "What’s more, the ever-popular sharing platters offer delicious finger food - a perfect accompaniment to those wishing to take advantage of The Cross Keys' new bookable private booths as they watch the sport one of the eight newly installed TVs, including one 75-inch screen that will provide the ultimate viewing experience every matchday.

"Experiencing cask ales in a pub is certainly a forgotten favourite and the choice of several rotational taps, including Doom Bar and guest ale London Pride, will please all.

"Craft connoisseurs can also sip on Camden Hells, Beavertown Gamma Ray and Neck Oil, to name just a few. An extensive cocktail menu featuring all the classics will also be on offer, alongside a range of spirits and soft drinks."

Cross Keys general manager Ross Floyd said: “After such a challenging year, it’s incredibly exciting to finally be reopening our doors – even more so now that we’re able to show off our new look.

"It’s completely different from the old look and feel that our customers were used to, and we are sure that they will love what we’ve done with the place.

“We’ve introduced loads of new features that will enhance the customer experience as we continue to serve what they love, and a personal highlight is the beer garden – it looks incredible! It really is the best place locally for everyone to enjoy their freedoms in a socially distanced and safe manner.

“Our team is known for its fantastic service, and we’re prepped and ready to provide this and more as soon as our doors open. We’re back and better than ever, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back through our doors!”

To celebrate its grand opening, the bar will be hosting a VIP party on 9 July. For more information and to book a table, visit https://www.craft-pubs.co.uk/the-cross-keys-wootton-bassett
