A total of 21 police officers, staff and volunteers have been recognised for their dedication and service to Wiltshire Police.
A ceremony was held at Wiltshire Police Headquarters in Devizes to celebrate the extraordinary dedication of those who have devoted their careers, time and energy to policing and public service.
The awards recognised a wide range of achievements, from officers who have dedicated 20 years to serving the public to members of the community who have gone above and beyond to support others.
For the first time, officers and staff who represent Wiltshire Police through sport were also honoured with awards for Sports Person of the Year, Sports Team of the Year and Sports Volunteer of the Year.
The new awards recognise the professionalism, integrity, resilience and commitment that individuals bring both to their sporting achievements and their role in keeping our communities safe.
PC Laura Hughes, from the Neighbourhood Tasking Team, was named the inaugural winner of the Wiltshire Police Sports Club Sports Person of the Year Award.
Laura was nominated for her exceptional dedication to equestrian sport, positive attitude and unwavering commitment to representing Wiltshire Police.
She consistently gives her all in competition, supports and encourages fellow team members, and is an excellent ambassador for both the Sports Club and the Force.
Her achievements in showjumping, combined with her professionalism, enthusiasm and willingness to inspire others, made her a worthy recipient of the inaugural award.
Speaking about the opportunities she has experienced through competing for Wiltshire Police, Laura said: "It has opened doors I never knew existed.
"I have competed at some of the country's premier venues, something that would never have been possible as an amateur rider, and that's what makes it so special. Before this, I only ever competed as an individual, for myself.
"To compete for, and have the support of, a whole organisation brings out an extra competitive side because you want to do your very best for everyone who's rooting for you. The fact that I get to do it with my own horse, which I've trained through the levels, is something you simply can't describe."
One of the standout moments of Laura's year was representing Wiltshire Police at the prestigious London International Horse Show, an achievement that reflects both her dedication and her ability to perform on a national stage.
The award recognises not only Laura's sporting success, but also her perseverance, progress and the positive example she sets for colleagues and fellow competitors.?
