Swindon Borough Council is urging people to check whether they qualify for help paying energy bills.

A spokesperson said: "With colder weather on the way, now is a good time to check what support is available to help manage your energy bills.
"Energy prices increased by four per cent at the beginning of October, taking the typical annual household bill to £1,723.
"Ofgem is also due to announce the January 2027 price cap in November, with further increases forecast.
"There are several ways to get help with energy costs, from free advice on making your home more energy efficient to financial support if you’re struggling to pay your bills."
Warm & Safe Wiltshire offers free, impartial advice to Swindon residents and can help you explore what support you may be eligible for.
The team can be contacted on 0800 038 5722, and further information can be found on the council's website.
