A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident in Highworth.
Gary Rogers, 70, of Downs View, Highworth, was arrested following the incident at his home on Tuesday, 4 August.
A 69-year-old woman sustained serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. She remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Rogers appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court today - 6 August.
No plea was entered and he was remanded into custody until his next court appearance at Swindon Crown Court on 4 September.
