Nepalese Association of Wiltshire organises ceremony to pay tribute to the late Queen

The Nepalese Association of Wiltshire ran a special programmed event on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral.
The event was held at Buckhurst Community Centre on Monday, 19 September.
President of the Nepalese Association of Wiltshire, Mr Gyan Prasad Gurung, Founder President and Retired Major Sant Pun MBE, Mayor of Swindon, Cllr Abdul Amin, Cllr Suresh Sri Gattapur, Cllr Deb Bell, as well as members of the working committee, advisors and members of the Nepalese society, were in attendence for the programme.
During the event, President Gyan Prasad Gurung, Mayor of Swindon Abdul Amin, and Vice President of the Society Khagendra Gauchan, paid their last respects to the late Queen. The programme was also covered by the BBC Wiltshire team.
Mr Gyan Prasad Gurung said: "The British monarch died on 8 September, at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The Maharani, who has been on the throne for more than 70 years, was laid to rest with state honors on the morning of 19 September.
"This ceremony we organised, was our way of celebrating the late Queen, and saying goodbye."
The Nepalese Association also paid tribute to the Queen's husband, Prince Philip, who passed away last year.

In addition, the Association conducted a larger scale bulb planting ahead of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee within the Westlea Park area. Red and white tulips were planted in a Union Jack pattern.
