Swindon's popular community event, the Boishaki Mela, will be held this May at GWR Park on Faringdon Road.
Running from midday (12pm) on Sunday 14 May, the Boishaki Mela will again be bringing all of Swindon's communities together and raising funds for the Mayor's charities.
Last year, the Mela saw over 4,000 people attend, and this year is set to be just as big an event.
There will be live music performances from Black Kat GH, Shatabdi Roy, Momota and Baul Abdul Shohid.
As well as music, attendees will be able to enjoy:
- Cultural programmes held in association with Bangalina Swindon
- Dance performances
- A fashion show
- Henna and face painting
- Clothing stalls
- Food and drink stalls
- Funfair rides
Entry for the event is free, but those who can give something are being encouraged to donate £2.
Organised by the Swindon Bangladesh Association, the Boishaki Mela 2023 is due to finish at 7pm.
The event is being sponsored by a host of local businesses including MB Cars Swindon, Biplob, the Khyber, Baraka Supermarket and more.
Funds raised from the event will help support the Mayor's charities - STEP Swindon and the Zam Zam Trust.
STEP Swindon are an organisation that help young people around the town through therapeutic groups and activities.
The Zam Zam Trust are charitable trust seeking to alleviate poverty in Bangladesh.
