With a brand new season just around the corner, Swindon St George Rugby League are preparing a big season of competition.
Excitement is said to be mounting at Swindon St George as England prepares to host this year's Rugby League World Cup tournament.
The NALGO Sports based RL club says it is planning a big season of competition across no less than five disciplines of Rugby League.
As well as two open age men’s sides and a women’s team, the club is also fielding a Masters outfit for over 35s, playing under age-related degrees of physicality for the different age groups represented.
Training for all these sections starts on Wednesday, 6 April at 6.30pm at NALGO Sports Club, Cricklade Road.
Furthermore, a full season of Wheelchair RL is being planned, making the game available to everyone, regardless of age, sex, ability or disability and coaching/training sessions will continue at 6.30pm, every Friday at the Deanery Academy, Wichelstowe.
In addition, the future of the League in Swindon is underpinned by a hugely popular junior coaching scheme, catering for ‘Little Leaguers’; boys and girls aged from four years upwards, offering safe, fun and healthy morning sessions every Sunday from 9 – 10am.
These sessions are taught by qualified coaches, and will ready the attendees for matches against other clubs.
Club chairman Warren Huggins said: "Our underlying aim is to be a totally inclusive community club and, as such, welcome anyone and everyone who enjoys fitness, fun and friendship through good sport.
"No previous experience is necessary as top-quality coaching is available and, whether it’s as a player, helper or spectator, SSG would love to have you on board."
