32 new CCTV cameras are being installed at Whalebridge car park, adding to Swindon Borough Council's blanket coverage across council-owned town centre car parks.
Earlier this year, the number of cameras across Fleming Way, Spring Gardens, Brunel West and Brunel North increased from 64 to 139.
With a network of more than 1,400 cameras, our CCTV operators help identify suspicious activity and supports emergency responses by providing real-time intelligence.
So far in 2026, the team has identified, reported and managed 568 incidents alongside Swindon Police, playing a crucial role in helping keep residents safe.
These upgrades will support efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour and make the town centre a safer and more welcoming place for everyone
